A hungry person will look for food. Similarly, if a strong hunger for acquiring knowledge is planted in the mind of students, they will be serious to acquire the
same to the highest possible extent.

HOW DOES MOTIVATION ACT?

Both motivation and ability are equally important for performing any task. In case of learning the same conclusion is applicable. Without motivation learning cannot take place for the benefit of a bright student.

The motivation makes the learning easy, enjoyable and effective (E3). The degree of motivation will determine the degree of learning, when need based ability is there.

What fuel to a car is motivation to a man?

The following formula of productivity/performance will clear the concept.

P= Ax M/100

Where P= Performance/productivity
A= Ability
M= Motivation
If ability is 100%, Motivation is 100%
Performance /Productivity will be

           100x100
P     = -----------   =100%
             100

When,
Ability is 50%
Motivation is 50%                               50x50
Performance/Productivity will be P = -------------- = 25%
                                                         100

When,
Ability is 50%
Motivation is 50%                               100x0
Performance/Productivity will be P = -------------- = 0%
                                                         100
